CAREER TRAINING ENTRY GUIDELINES
SOME FELONY-FRIENDLY PATHWAYS
Some career pathways may be felony-friendly. Final employment, licensing, insurance and background requirements vary by career and employer.
NO DIPLOMA OR GED REQUIRED FOR SELECT PROGRAMS
A high school diploma or GED is not required for select programs. Care Route will work with you to identify the right training pathway.
DRIVER’S LICENSE
Applicants must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one.

Collector Training
Students Learn
- DOT and non-DOT collection procedures
- Collection-site preparation and donor verification
- Custody and Control Form completion
- Problem collections and error prevention
- Five consecutive error-free monitored mock collections
Qualification Requirements
Students completing DOT urine collector qualification training must successfully complete the required mock collections before qualification documentation is issued. DOT collector refresher training is required at least every five years.
DOT's current regulation requires qualification training, five consecutive error-free mock collections, and refresher training at least every five years.
